I appreciate Dr. Zhou’s care of my father. However, I have concerns about his discharge plan. When I mentioned that his creatinine was still elevated at 152 µmol/L (reference range 64–104) and his eGFR was 38, well below 60, Dr. Zhou told me not to focus on the numbers. She also confirmed the ultrasound finding of a 0.5 cm kidney stone but said she would not address it.
Given these concerns, I do not feel that my father’s kidney function and kidney stone were adequately addressed before discharge. Therefore, I cannot agree with the statement that Dr. Zhou’s care in this case reflected “evidence-based practices and personalized patient care” tailored to my father’s needs.
