This was one of the worst experiences I have had with a medical specialist. I felt completely dismissed as a patient. The appointment felt rushed from start to finish, the doctor asked questions rapidly, repeatedly cut me off when I tried to explain my symptoms, and did not perform any physical examination.
Despite having been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis by two previous doctors, he stated I did not have it based solely on an X-ray showing no visible joint damage. He offered no meaningful explanation and refused to prescribe anything to help manage my pain, saying he is “not a pain doctor,” despite being a rheumatologist.
He showed no interest in providing care and explicitly told me to follow up with my GP instead, stating that I did not fall under the type of patient he wished to treat. The overall impression was that efficiency and volume mattered more than patient well-being.
I left feeling unheard, invalidated, and without any support or next steps. A real shame and a terrible experience with a specialist. I would never recommend him to anyone.
